Welcome to The Rehab Place
Occupational therapy can help you get back to participating in the things that you want to do and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities.
This includes helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.
Developmental disabilities are chronic conditions that are due to both mental and or physical impairments.
Individuals with developmental disabilities have problems with everyday life activities including language, mobility, learning, self-help, and independent living.
These disabilities can occur during pregnancy, early childhood and up to the age of 22.
The term sensory integration refers to how people use the information coming from their environment and how their senses interact or process it within their body.
For most of us, sensory integration occurs without any conscious thought or effort. People with SI dysfunction have a great deal of difficulty figuring out what is going on inside and outside of their bodies.
